FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is the violin fully set up?
A: Yes. The violin comes fully set up with everything that it needs - bridge, chinrest, tailpiece, 1 tuner and a set of very high quality strings (Thomastik Dominant or Pirastro Obligato.)
Q: Does the violin come with a bow and a case? If not, how much more do I need to spend on a case and a bow?
A: Each violin is sold separately. Great quality violins do not usually come as a combo, but they are sold separately.
You can purchase a student Pernambuco wood bow for about $150 and a violin case will range from $80-200.
Q: Will the violin retain its value?
A: Yes. Because these violins are entirely hand made with an excellent quality of craftsmanship, they will increase in value over time, which makes them a very good investment. Low quality violins, which are not hand made, because of the poor workmanship and inexpensive materials used, do not increase in value and most often they do not retain their initial value.
Q: How much will it cost to maintain the violin every year?
A: Because of their excellent quality of wood and workmanship, these fine violins will not need much maintenance during the year, besides replacing the strings when they get old or break. The wonderful thing about investing in a high quality, hand made violin,
is that it maintains beautifully and it does not require extra money being invested in it during the years.
The factory made violins, on the other hand, are assembled with low quality workmanship and are made of poor quality laminated materials, which have a tendency to deteriorate over time and can come apart easily. Therefore they usually need a lot of extra fixing and maintenance during the years and in the end, they end up costing a lot more money than what you initially bought them for.
